How heavy is the Cube when made up ?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Is the Cube very heavy to move around when its all made up ? Can it be picked up by hubby and myself to be moved easily ? Or is it quite heavy. ?

I ask mainly because if I get my Cube before the WIR is constructed, I will be siting in on our patio and then will have to move it to where the WIR will be once constructed. The new site will be on our top garden. Our garden is split into two levels and access will be via wooden steps that go up about 6ft. So hubby and I will hav to cart the Cube up there to new site.

Am wondering if this is going to be a struggle if the Cube is heavy. ??

Or is it simple to dismantle it all, and then move in pieces ?? Are they easy to take apart ?

Sorry for the questions :)

xx

I was able to wheel mine around ok on my own, but lifting it up and down steps - I dunno. I'd have thought between two of you you could do it.

If it is too heavy, you could probably remove a few loose bits like the roof, egg-port etc to lighten it, without taking the whole thing apart. It can be dismantled, but it's not a quick job.

I don't have a Cube any more, so I'm working on memory - someone else who still has one will have a better idea. You can probably check the overall weight on the Shop site somewhere?

If you remove the roof, back and 2 sides, it is easy enough to lift with both of you.

I helped out at the New Forest Show yesterday and helped Quin dismantle to stand. The cube is very heavy when fully built, but the base and wheels alone, you should be ok. :D

We had a cube full of all sorts of tonics and things and had to carry/push it across the showground to someones car yesterday - its rather heavy!

We managed it with 2 of us, but empty and with bits removed it'd be a lot easier

- could you make a ramp to wheel it down the steps?
