Old Speckled Hen
I'm about to start this and it will take a month. You are supposed to close off the OMF yes? Is this for the whole 4 weeks? Dumb question, no doubt, it's just that on three of my four boxes ( 3 nationals and a nuc) the slide in floor is really snug. I have the entrances closed down to one or two spaces re the wasps. Will the bees have enough ventilation? It's not hot but wet here........ rains a lot ............... raining as I type The fourth box has a varroa board leaving quite a gap twixt floor and tray (T*****s special) Is that enough closure? I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Can I also add to this one please... how do you close off the mesh floor on the beehaus? i will be treating with Apiguard from next saturday - but don't want all the fumes to go to waste out of the mesh.... there seems to be no provision to close off the floor.. Thanks!
Guest
You are right, there is no provision. It can be done but requires a little lateral thinking. One of the down-sides of the design, I suppose. Regards, RAB
