Electricbarbarella
she was really off yesterday but nothing visibly wrong with her, when I got up this morning she was gone. we lost an exbatt last week, we have lost 4 girls in total this year, starting to feel really sad and worried that I am doing something wrong, we ahve had hens 2.5 years and not really had any trouble until this year. oddly enough the 5 we have left are the original hens we got. the girl we lost this morning was a pure bred wyandotte, really strong and healthy, we only got her at POL last october so she really wasn't old. Mollie333
Sorry for your loss. You can't be doing anything wrong since you have had your original girls for 2 years.
Chucky Mama
Are they up to date with Flubenvet worming? Have there been any symptoms of anything unusual at all? Are they laying? Any sign of external parasites. Are you red mite free in your coops?
Egluntyne
Sorry to hear it. Knowing you, as I do, it won't be anything you are doing wrong, just a run of incredibly bad luck. I'd give 'em all a **Basic Health Check** to be on the safe side, and take it from there.
frizz
so sorry for your loss, as already said, I doubt you are doing anything wrong, just really bad luck. Hope you find out what has happened. Big Hug.

Electricbarbarella
what a good article eglutyne, they all seem fine, well apart from the chook who has been lame for the last year but still seems in perfect health so we are just leaving her to it. also none of them have many scales on there legs from the dreaded scaly leg mite outbreak last year. no lice or mites. only thing is we don't get eggs very often anymore, we get a softie every couple of days and probably 1 egg every couple of days. been doing every thing for the softies but not seeming to make much odds so guessing it's just natural progression before they stop laying.
