Well the first egg has hatched ! And it's really cute, it's a partridge silkie

Hi Emma, that one is from another batch from ebay, only one was fertile ! Yours hatch on Thursday, you can see them in the egg jumping all over ! I can't wait for them to hatch

 

She's very demanding! I've got a lamp over her so she's warm enough and goes quiet,however as soon as I leave her even just sitting across from her she starts chirping like crazy, until I go to her and put my hand next to her ! She's not too cold or hot, just if I leave her ! She started at 1 in the morning last night so I was up with my hand in her pen then she was quiet. Can I stop her doing this or ween her from being so needy ?I think she may be very demanding because she's by her self at the moment but that won't be for long !

Put a little teddy bear in with her. Sounds soppy, but they love to snuggle into them.

I'm dying to know how many whites & golds you get from my eggs. Exciting stuff.

Thankyou I love hatching chicks rather than buying hens ! You always know try come from a good back ground she is a lot cuter now I'll post some more pics next week when emmas eggs hatch out I found a way to get her to be quite ! I recorded me on my iPhone clicking and talking and I just play it on repeat and it thinks I'm with her so I can leave her but she still prefers me

Aaron - just noticed your signature. I grew up with Chihuahuas & King Charles Spaniels.

Hi Donna, thanks, you should it's great and it's quiet easy once you know ive got a local farm type zoo which take in chickens it's a lovely place so that's where my last cockerel went to other people aren't so lucky so have to use other options

Hi Emma, yeh I started off with 1 chihuahua but bred her and ended up keeping 2/4 of the pups oops! Were just to soft ! My mam cried when the other two left haha they are lovely though, long haired ones. I love that too ! It's point were it becomes reality that there's a little life in there aww
