I've read a few people on here have been on the kill,pluck,gut and bone chicken course run by Alison in Hook farm Hampshire and I am interested in participating and need to know if there is any age limit,i am 13 and have kept chickens

for 5 years and this is one method i need to learn!

I don't know if there is a set age limit, I guess it would be depending on each person.

I think there was a recommended age limit of 12 for hen parties? So 13 is quite young for this course... if you were allowed you'd obv have to go with your parents too.

 

Maybe give her a call/email and ask ... if you are too young, you can always think about it for the future - at least you're being responsible in thinking about it

TBH, I think that any provider of that sort of course would hedge their bets and say no to any under 16s, but only because they need to have a general rule to fall back on - some youngsters are fine and others aren't. My daughter is 12 now and I have always let her watch any despatching and prepping, but I bet if she contacted a D&D course provider, then they'd say that she couldn't attend.

 

I know this isn't helpful to you, but just pointing out the reason for the response you might get. Hopefully you'll get lucky and find someone who is happy to chat to you on the phone and then they can decide for themselves whether or not they think it would be OK for you to attend.
