txswanie
Can anyone tell me the correct dosage for soluble tylan. I have 4 chickens who consume 1 Glug of water per day. The directions are for 50 gallons of water. That would last me forever. This stuff wasnt cheap. Thanks Colette
Space Chick
It's 1.2g per 2 litres. Or at least it was when I had it. I have a scientific electronic scale which is useful, however if you have a standard electronic scale and you put it in REALLY slowly into a pot first before adding it to the water and stop when it says 1g it will probably be there or there abouts. I then mixed it into a jug of measured water before putting it into their drinkers. Also interesting to know that Tylan no longer has a egg withdrawal
PeckyBeak
This was recently prescribed for my my chooks and the dosage is 0.5g per litre, which we found impossible to weigh on our electronic kitchen scales, it did'nt register at all. After conversion we worked out that it is half a teaspoon (2.5ml) to 5 litres of water, or a quarter teaspoon (1.25 ml) to 2.5 litres of water. Make sure you add the powder to the water not the other way round, and to dissolve it whisk with a balloon whisk if you have one, otherwise it goes into lumps. Someone suggested using warm water to dissolve it, but I found cold better. Dosage is usually for 5 days.
