Cinnamon
Any idea where I can buy Coconut oil from? The daughter has decided she wants to grow her hair & has heard that if you put the oil on & leave it for an hour then it encourages growth (typical teen - I want long hair & I want it NOW!) Or does anyone have any other hair growth tip?
Lavenders_Blue
I would think a health food shop would sell it. Otherwise you could try here or here Never heard it being used to encourage hair to grow before!
craftyhunnypie
Any Afro Carribean or Asian grocery shop or hairdressers. Pharmacies sell it in solid sort of wax form pots. I buy mine when I go on my holidays or from ebay. A make called Bajaj or Parachute are fantastic - it's jasmine scented. Also Amla or Vatika hair oil. I also buy it in Rusholme near Manchester ( Asian community). There is a wig shop near me that sells it too. I've always used hair oils to keep hair soft, healthy & strong - I love them. Good luck finding a nice one. Emma.x
Chucky Mama
You could try looking for somewhere that does afro hair care products as it is very much an afro hair thing. You can also use shea butter which may be easier to get hold of.
Cinnamon
Good point both of you - hadn't thought of that! I wonder if Sallys will stock it also - I was thinking it would be more of a pharmacy line, and hadn't considered that I could get it from a salon. SJChick
Hi Not sure about the coconu oil but my hair grows most when i've been out in the sunshine (I realise there may be limited opportunity for this now! ) Also, a healthy diet and a good shampoo, John Frieda Brilliant Brunette works wonders on mine which can be a bit "Crystal Tipps and Alistair" sometimes. The Dogmother
I used this when I had very long hair and wore it in a plait while travelling... smells divine too I still keep it to use in the sun, or on dry skin. Do tell her though that any oil product like that will have to be washed out by using neat shampoo on dry hair before washing as normal. When I lived in S E London, I bought it locally, but now I just ring up and get it from the UK distributor in Essex.
