Jokingly, how many chickens in an eglu?

I was slow to reassemble my cube this evening having pressure-washed it thoroughly. I need not have worried as my girls proved that 14 (big girls) will fit in an eglu

Just wish I'd taken a picture but it was soo dark. I am sure someone can probably beat this - it certainly amused us all up here! We could hear a commotion going on and when we went to look somehow, minus a few feathers they had all got in.

I have six bantams in a classic, so I could probably get another 10 then

What run do you have with the classic or is it in a WIR? When I have my two new ones in the WIR with the others I will have an empty and I am tempted to have some bantams

They are in a 6x8 WIR but they only use a corner of it However I had 4 in the with standard run when they were little and they seemed to have plenty of room.

I have a wooden ark coop which i used before we got eglu. I would just love to put some ex-batts in it but have two orpingtons in eglu. Could i free-range together but keep saparate in ark/eglu?

Yes but you will need to supervise until they got stronger and feather up. I have had my ex-bats for just over 3 weeks and they are still pretty bald They live in the but fr with the banties who are very kind (and scared of them ). Once they can look after themselves they will fr with the big girls and then go into a section of the WIR then hopefully join them in the cube
