Hypno gastric band........ UPDATE!

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone....... i'm feeling quite good at the moment...

Ann

Sometimes the cause of the overeating has to be treated before any type of weightloss will be perminant. Sadly I understand how hard that it...

Could he not use his LL money for some therapy instead????

Dare I say it? He's a bloke, he's not really into any psychobabble or anything. He does realise that he overeats for a reason be it stress or boredom. His mum used to insist that they all ate everything off their plates (something I don't do because of him).

I've just started trying to cook us Weight Watcher meals, I spoke to him last night about him doing it properly and counting the points (we have it on-line) as I think if he puts everything down it might make him think. Trouble is this was after he'd eaten the WW meal I'd cooked, followed by 2 caramel eggs and a slice of cake  .

I think you have done so well, I wish it would work for him.

I am really interested in this. I am a member of slimming world and do lose weight but I find that I then begin to sabotage myself. So I am still eating all the healthy stuff then topping up too with stuff I dont really want and it certainly doesn't make me feel good. I would summarise it as my subconscious self ruining it and there are definite times that are worse.

Can I just ask though is it just a few sessions or do you need to continue to go. And how do you find someone as I am not anywhere near you. Would you also mind indicating what is the kind of cost involved (pm if that is too personal)

Thanks

A friend of mine is a hypnotherapist and charges £55/session, which usually lasts around 1.5 hours. I understand that prices vary wildly.

I have to admit to being the world's biggest cynic about this sort of thing, but agreed to let him work on me once. He managed to put me into a meditative state far deeper than any I'd achieved while meditating myself, and when I came out of it, i was more relaxed than I'd ever been. If that can happen to a disbeliever like me then I can see that it could be a powerful tool in the right hands.

I think she is charging around the £200 mark for a set number of sessions. I went for 2 consecutive weeks, then left it a month for a top up and then again after a few months.

She has showed me how to tweak it myself if needed as she knows I do mediation.

I have some friends who have been, with good results, some better than me. Men of course always loose weight faster :?:?:?

I found that I stopped sabbotaging myself as it's something that she worked on with me at the same time, as in the past that has been my problem.

I don't like to harp on too much, but I am pleased that at this moment in time it's working for me, and it feels like it could be a long term achievement, where as before I think i've been unrealistic in my weight goals, therefore setting myself up for failure!

I am very interested in this - even got as far as contacting a practitioner last year but lack of funds held me back.

However,I have just had a bonus,so maybe now is the time to take the plunge?

I am worried about finding a reputable practitioner though - any suggestions?
