madchickenlady
I have just turfed the hens out of the greenhouse, where they were happily sunbathing Unfortunately, they were also dust bathing in my compost and making one heck of a mess They are not amused at their banishment

Roobaloo
You're not alone - mine currently hate me because I switched them onto layers pellets. They've always had mash...and love it...but they only wanted to pick out their favourite bits and there was so much waste (and I got fed up with clearning up the damp mash after they'd thrown it everywhere!!) so I switched. So now they shout and ruffle their feathers indignantly at me every time I go into the garden! ...but I'm being a mean Mummy and ignoring them!! chickenopolis
I went to Asda at the weekend and bought some HUGE grapes. Went to give one to Gloria yesterday when I got in from work, I accidently dropped it, it bounced on her chest (which was incredibly large as she had helped demolish a sweetheart cabbage yesterday, followed by some mealworms and sunflower seeds AND layers mash), she went squawking up the garden as tho I had done her the greatest disservice! Telling ALL the neighbours that she is a battered chicken and that she is not putting up with that type of treatment She was snuggled up in the nest box last night when I tucked her in, I gave her a kiss on her tail feathers, and still she wasn't having any of it. This morning she was beautiful (as always), but I am still not forgiven
daxigirl
Paxo was in a helping mood this morning, she started off s"Ooops, word censored!"ping the spillage as I was sweeping it up around the bedding bins. Next she was in the rabbithutch where I keep the spare chickenalia, disinfectant etc etc, she gave herself away chuckling to herself, bit put out at being extracted twice from there. In the end I shut the greenhouse door to keep her assistance out. She then kept trying to get in the Cube when it was being cleaned as it was egg time, in the end I put her in the littlies eglu to get on with it where she was being a pest. Grrrrrrr Chickens who'd have 'em.
chicken bark
They really let you know when you are in the dog house. On the flip side my ducks are quite pleased with me today as I gave them a pool of lovely clean water. They splashed about in it like children. The pond refills will be reducing now the weather is turning. When it is really bad they will have to made do with a deep bowl. I am preparing myself to be unpopular then. MarkBevBen
Our girls have been on a treats freeze whilst I've been worming them As the 7-days were up yesterday, thought I'd give them some cabbage leaves - to which they looked at me with complete utter disdain at my sheer audacity!! I'm such a softy though and caved in - gave them a lovely corn on the cob a piece, which they immediately devoured! green
Our girls have been on a treats freeze whilst I've been worming them As the 7-days was up yesterday, thought I'd give them some cabbage leaves - to which they looked at me with disdain at my sheer audacity!! I'm such a softy though and caved in - gave them a lovely corn on the cob a piece, which they immediately devoured! Same here, started worming yesterday and told myself strictly no treats for the chooks. I then caved in (on day 1! ) and gave them some butternut squash seeds that I scooped out. I did read somewhere they were a natural wormer... I'll try to be better today, even if it means being unpopular!
MarkBevBen
I did read somewhere they were a natural wormer Awwwww Green, you've got me laughing away here I was evil-strict-mummy and didn't give the girls no treats at all during worming! They did fine and I think Dottie's eggs even got a bit bigger too..... cod liver oil perhaps, or that she was only eating her grub?
