Just had a much needed break and used up earnings from masses of overtime on a 2 night break in the Cotswolds in a Q hotel. Not cheap but lovely - they had a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and also beatician which finances didnt stretch too. Lovely weather yesterday and went to Slimbridge. Now home and sad its over so back to more overtime to pay for next jaunt. Horrid journey home and worried re house as burgalry a few doors down the other day. Girls were at friends and another friend looking after cats and bun. Anyone else been away?

Sounds lovely. Hope the journey back didn't undo all the good the break had done.

 

Not been away. Still had quite a nice time though.

We went away as well. Children went to Grandparents so hubby and I went to Biggin Hall in Derbyshire. Had a couple of nights of peace, good food and a couple of days walking in the Dove valley. All is back to normal now and I'm ready for another break

Our half term was the previous week, and we had a week away in North Norfolk, except the house we had rented was damp and full of mould, and my youngest had a full blown allergic reaction to spores. Cue frantic search for some sort of out of hours care...and we came home on the Monday morning...she now has steroids and inhalers....we were away less than 48 hours, and poor Bean was ill all week. I now have a nasty sinusitis and chesty cough...probs due to mould and a week of no sleep! I could do with another week off work I am now counting down the days until we break up on the 21st of December......

Wow Sari your short stay makes staying at home feel like fun. Actually it has been quite nice just being at home a little more.

I love being at home........we also love Norfolk..but Bean is on the mend now, thank goodness. T 2010 has been one of those years to look bac kon and say " well, we survived.." It's been nightmarish...

Life seems to go like that sometimes, the last 18 months have been like that for me too but we can just hope that 2011 is better.
