My first year with chooks and fireworks too. There was a display close by on Friday night, went out to check on them but they were fine. And last night one went off while they were still out, just starting to get dark, and I looked out at them, both happily pecking away. So fingers crossed they will be OK. Decided it was impossible to bring them in, as it's not only one night, it would be all week!

This is our second year with chickens on firework night. We live in a fairly built up area, I hear your comments about it not being one night! I expect there will be fireworks every night this week. Last year I woried, but it wasn't too bad and the girls were fine. This year I'm having a panic again because were planning to go away saturday eve and leaving a friend to lock them up...I always get chicken anxiety when we go away, but I expect firework night chicken anxiety will be worse (although I'm sure completly unfounded!)

I hate this time of year...if only it just lasted a week but round here it'll be all month...it started last weekend, then it'll be in lesser amounts midweek but come friday and Saturday it'll be hell. Then the shops will be selling off stock cheaply and people will keep letting them off. Then a break before New Years...

It's my first year with the chickens...and I really hope they're unfussed by it all as I'll already be camped down the field with the horses from 5:30pm until 11:30pm. *sigh*
