Unsecure chicken perches

Went out this morning to let out my chickens and give them some warm food and one of my little gold penciled Hamburgs was dead

 

She was left behind her little sneezing twin any ideas on how to stop her sneezing?

How sad, I'm so sorry .

 

One of my girls was very snuffly and snotty (and sneezing a bit) recently. I gave them all Citricidal in their water but after a week or so she was no better. I took her to the vets in the end and he gave her Septrin Paed Suspension. I'm on day 8 of it and she certainly seems a lot better .

One of them was sneezing but I don't know which one it was. So it might be the one that died or it might be the one that is currently in a box in my downstairs loo getting a bit of TLC (as I couldn't tell them apart!)!

 

I have got some poultry spice and am going to worm them and see if anything happens over the next few days.

If she was sneezing and that was what killed her then she'd have other respiratory signs so I would keep an eye out for discharge from nose, bubbles around eyes, swollen sinus - bulge in front of eye, put your ear on her back and listen for wheezing and crackles and stuff like that which would indicate it's more serious than a cold or allergy.

It could have been something completely different. I had one die suddenly and I never knew what it was

Thanks for all the messages. I bought the other 'twin' in last night and kept her warm and she seems okay, so fingers crossed she is over it! She was my first departure to the hen house in the sky so i was worried I had done something to her!
