chuckmum6
Anyone had a vain stripped out? I am about to have it done today and just wondered what the recovery is like. Its not a main vein but is pretty much all the way down my leg, going to be picked out yuk! A result of having children!
Reikiranf
Sorry, I don't have any experience of this, but I just wanted to say that I hope it goes well and that you make a quick recovery.

Alis girls
Have removed sutures and helped wrestle patients into the very becoming stockings the NHS provide for you. Generally you might be a bit sore. And I mean wrestle - but all I've seen have done well and the results are usually very good
Sam Palmer
Had mine done in both legs 7 years ago. It went well, but having to wear those stockings for weeks on end and sit with my legs up for 2 weeks did drive me up the wall. My legs were so much better, but over the last couple of years they've started to reappear on both legs .
chuckmum6
Thank you for the kind words. Have had the vains 'picked' out now, and came home last night after declining an over night stay in hospital. My leg isn't too sore really, I'm just finding the bandage that was put on, keeps rolling down and this is the main discomfort. It is supposed to stay on until Monday, but I think it won't last until then! I have a stocking but there is no way I can put it on myself. OH is away this weekend with the boys at a family birthday (I was supposed to go too but don't feel up to it), so I'm on my own most of the time, but I may get him to put it on me before he goes. Clur
Glad it wasn't too bad! I am having mine done in a few weeks after my 3rd bout of phlebitis this year.
