We had a fox attack on Sunday afternoon.

 

Two girls survived.

 

Cleo is battered, bloodied and bruised, but seemingly none the worse. The vet has given me Terramycin antibiotic spray for her superficial wounds. It is bright green, so she now looks like a punk hen!

 

Pepsi has no visible signs of injury. However, she cannot support her weight and stays lying down. The vet has examined her twice and can find no physical cause.

 

She is eating and drinking OK, although this needs to be brought to her as she cannot move independently. Do you think time will heal?

Try adding a tonic to her water. Bach's rescue remedy is also good.

 

Hope they are bother back to normal soon.

Hmm, if there is no injury she should be up and about. Is she unwilling or unable to stand? Perhaps some pain relief would help. As your vet has already examined her it might be worth suggesting this to them. They may be able to let you have something without seeing her again. Metacam is good.

metacam and rescue remedy are both good ideas, and like chuckymama says, the vet may prescribe without you hving to go back again.

or you could try nutridrops? these are supposed to work within 30 mins (I have my doubts) but are a helpful tonic.

Pepsi is back to the vet on Monday. I'll try the rescue remedy and mention metacam to the vet.

I think you should ring, if she needs pain relief you don't want to leave it till Monday

poor girls, I had 2 which should have been 3 come to stay for holiday only 3 days after a fox attack.

They were very very unsettled, jumpy and one had not been right since the day of the attack, her crop was not emptyig and she had a bad leg.

It really shakes them up
