Crooked Chicken
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be. I have a chicken with swellings at the ends of some of her toes. Haven't had a proper look yet, but will do so tomorrow. It's not preventing her from walking, guess that's why I didn't even notice there was a problem. Any ideas. x
Christian
Bumblefoot usually affects the ball of the foot, but can also affect the toes. It is caused by a cut/graze and then an infection getting in. It requires a long dose of antibiotics to get rid of it.
Plum
Could just be a dirt ball collected around the nails. Mine used to get them when they'd been out in mud and in on hemcore. If it is you need to soak them in soapy water and tease them off gradually but don't force them or you could damage the toe.
Lewis
Sounds like poo balls (maltesers) to be too. Just fill up a tub trug/the sink with an inch or warm water and stand her in there for a few minutes, they should soak off or after a couple or mins be loose enough to gently squeeze off
