Valkyrie
Thanks for letting us know - I know DD was buying up the shop at Christmas.
abwsco
If they've stored data unencrypted it would be worthwhile getting a copy of your credit report imo to make sure nothing untoward is on there for peace of mind.
BeckyBoo
I went to order something fom them yesterday and the whole website has been taken down and is being rebuilt. I got my order today and they FILLED it with free sample (by way of an apology for the inconvenience) which Boots or Topshop and the like certainly wouldn't have done. Yes they should have noticed earlier, but they've noticed now and they've taken what seems to me to be very positive action. Must be a nightmare for the company having no on line service so I'm happy enough with their response. BeckyBoo
C&T
And I guess it takes time between spotting that "something has gone wrong" to actually identifying what exactly has happened... A bit like knowing burglars have been into your house as soon as you walk in the door, but it will probably take a few days before you can create a full and complete list of exactly whats been pinched/broken etc. So in that respect, I think they have reacted pretty quickly and been very open - which has to be a good thing, allowing people to cancel their own cards etc without (hopefully) too much money being stolen. Storing card info un-encrypted though is just wrong - and if that is what they have done I would imagin the card schemes are coming down on them like a ton of bricks... Griffin
The paper copy of my statement has arrived and there is a payment I didn't make to the Carphone Warehouse. The statement only goes up to the 17th so waiting for my log in details to arrive in the post so that I can see up until the date my card was cancelled before calling Santander
