Hemcore or Aubiose which is best for eglu classic

Recommended Posts

I cant find any post relating to this comparison (is that right- lazy spell checker...) so I was wondering as a newbie who is siting their eglu+run on grassed (not for long) garden, has anyone compared these 2 and what have you found ?

Thanks

Well I use Hemcore and even use it in the nesting box instead of hay due to the chooks roosting on the edge of the nesting box and sometimes pooing in the box. It is easy to poo pick with Hemcore. I have never tried Aubiose. I have asked the supplier that I use to get the Hemcore but they don't seem to know what or where it can be obtained from :wall: Was planning on trying Easybed the next time I got an order, just to try something different :eh:

Sorry cant give you a better objective but can say I do really like Hemcore has kept the chooks pretty clean and dry during the winter. I use it in my WIR as well.

I like Hemcore, as it has Citronella in it, so good (or rather bad) for flies in the summer.

But I know others swear by Auboise...

If you can get both locally, I would try one, and then the other, and see which one works for you best! If you can only get one locally, I would just go for that one - not sure that it would be worth driving miles to get one over the other?

I always use Aubiose but dad bought Hemcore last time - have found it much more fibre'y and tangles around the girls feet.

Had Cilla + Alice separate in a hutch overnight (ready to go to a show) and the next morning they had it all wrapped round their toes

We use Easibed where I'm getting work experience + that seems to have no fibres in it but smells nice too (I think thats Citronella aswell) :D
