chestnutmare
Photos taken this morning of my skelter at its fullest so far - a grand total of 8 eggs . Needless to say, there aren't as many on there now after I had one fried this morning, and my mother now has a box of four... and my cousin will have a box of four tomorrow. Hence the photos. Don't they look pretty?
Ain't Nobody Here
Lovely . That's just the colour combination I used to have *sigh*. Now they're all the same colour . But at least my skelter is full .
chestnutmare
It's a lovely colour combination... I just wanted three different coloured eggs so I could easily tell who laid. I've seen full skelters and I'm impressed with those... seing as 8 is my maximum so far.

jill the potter
They look like giant sugared almonds!!! I had a total of 14 on Friday - unheard of - so lots of lovely eggy breakfasts

lougarbard
I was just going to start a similar post, but as you already have, I will add to yours!! My egg skelter arrived Friday morning, and I had 3 sad little eggs sat in it, but now today it is looking much better! My camera seems to make the egg colours not quite as they are in 'real life'! (Can someone resize my pic please, I cant find where to make smaller, thanks!)
chestnutmare
Gertie, I haven't been here for a while so will check out that thread. Thanks for posting the pics. Will take a look. Yay Jill - I have lots of egg breakfasts now. Thanks chuckmum. lougarbard, are there 20? Beautiful eggs, thanks for posting the picture, I love nosing at other people's pics. Your dark coloured skelter really shows them off nicely too. Beautiful.
Lavenders_Blue
Lovely lovely lovely eggs! I'm not at all jealous My egg skelter is reasonably full, but all the eggs are brown. Why can't ex batts lay fancy coloured eggs? (Will have to start painting them)
Snoxy
I just love EGGS...any colour...everyone is a work of art...and I never appreciated them until I became a hen keeper Sure friends think I am totally nuts about my passion for eggs...but I don't care Keep the pics coming...just LOVE to see them...especially on the egg skelters...ooooo...I am so tempted
lougarbard
My skelter is full now! 25 on it and 2 by the side, but as I have someone waiting for 18 eggs, it will soon be half empty again...for a day or two!
chestnutmare
Same here, Snoxy. I like looking at eggs pics or any chickeny pics really. lougarbard, it'll be so sad to see your empty skelter. I try to fill mine up but with only three hens and lotsa egg eating relatives, they soon go! (Should get some more).
Snoxy
have six boxes ready to go...just received a text order for a dozen from a regular customer...they don't hang around for long. A new customer, who buys free range extra large eggs couldn't believe the colour the yolks compared to her usual ones That's what I like to hear
JillM
My egg skelter arrived on Saturday, along with my chickens.....It looks like it might need dusting before the eggs start coming

It's lovely when your eggs are appreciated, isn't it? Makes you feel all proud... My egg skelter arrived on Saturday, along with my chickens.....It looks like it might need dusting before the eggs start coming Ha ha, never mind, Jill. It'll be worth it when the eggs come. Snoxy
My priority when selling eggs definitely isn't the money...I only charge for them to help towards feed etc. To hear people say how lovely the eggs look and taste is just fab u lus One customer was thrilled to get an egg laid by one of my ex batts the other day That was so lovely to hear
chestnutmare
[i doubt you'd ever get 'your money back' anyway... (I know I wouldn't) But a few £ will help with feed as you say. I'd like to get some ex batts one day. I know they can be weak and I don't think I'm ready to deal with fragile hens yet. I worried enough when Snowy was sneezing. Plus I'd have to buy more accomodation. One day... Snoxy
I was worried about getting ex batts...and am pretty sure I wouldn't have had the confidence to get them as first hens To be honest...I cannot believe how easy they have been...they are just AMAZING Audrey was poorly for the first couple of days but she has pulled through and is thriving All but one of my girls have feathered up nicely...the one that hasn't feathered up as well is such a fab character...she is so friendly and always the first one to come and say hello bless her
