Hi,

We've had our girls nearly 4 years now, and they still seem perfectly healthy. (I can't believe we've had them so long!) One Miss Pepperpot, and one Gingernut Ranger as supplied by Omlet, vaccinated and ready to go. Our best layer, a Speckledy Hen, has now sadly died, and the other two have always been fairly intermittent layers. One lays infrequent soft eggs, but none in between, and the other lays normal eggs about 5 times per week in the spring/summer. However, since they were supplied they've not had any further vaccinations or other treatment (but nor have they been in anyway unwell - and the dead hen died from a tumour, so was not contagious). Can we still eat the eggs, even though they have not had any further vaccinations etc.? The hen that lays has just started gone back into lay. What should we have been doing/should we do in the way of preventative care and how often? I know four years in is a bit late to ask  .

Thanks,

Jan
