Redwing
I like Bedmax, its very good for coop floors and covered runs I use lots of beddings - different ones for different groups of chooks and different places In my sheds at the moment is: Medicated chopped straw Bedmax Soft white shavings Softbed (sort of woody strands) chopped straw and shavings mix Aubiose Baled normal straw
oneyolktoanother
i looked at aubiose but i could'net make my mind up between bedmax or that, i have thought of putting it in the run aswell
kevf1
i use aubiose.. on the run floor... both side.. although i may just use on covered side in the summer... also in the poo trays ... i use shredded paper in the eggbox... which they seem to like... and its double security... as it put in the compost afterwards
chicken bark
I used Bedmax for about the first 8 months of owning chickens. I liked it but found it didn't compost down very quickly. I'm now using Equinola which is straw bedding. I think the best bet is using something that is cheap and readily available. The chickens aren't that fussy. Plum
I've got a mix of Bedmax and Aubiose at the moment and it works really well. Agree the Bedmax will probably take longer to compost. It's cheaper so works for me while I am throwing a lot of bedding out when it gets wet from leaks under frame of run.
Saronne
I use Bedmax. It's cheap and smells really nice. My araucana loves wallowing in it as I spread it through the covered run area. The others try to dust bathe in it. saronne x
