Benaberry
exciting! My husband got ganged up on from all sides when I ended up with my new girls on Sunday, even the breeder started, pointing out it's Mothers Day next weekend
alexgirl73
lol, I used that argument too so excited to be getting new chooks. And they'll be the youngest I've ever had lol. All the rest have been older girls I've either had from friends of friends or farms!
alexgirl73
Well, the new girls are here, and Chookie is NOT impressed lol. She's wandering up and down the garden shouting at the top of her voice, and letting us all know about her displeasure! So much for my plan of letting them all free range in the sunshine while getting to know each other. It's bucketing with rain and the new girls are not for leaving the nice dry run

Not a chance I keep having to stand it back up cause they knock it over , but it looks nice when they're in their run And no Peckingham Palace, I doubt you will sleep a wink lol

peckingham palace
They arrived this morning and seem really settled. We wish we had ordered 2 more, so we may take a trip to Omlet on Saturday to get 2 more girls then they can all settle together and get it over with. So far no squabbles, lovely characters and have Daisy eating out of my hand already. I absoluetly love them and so does DH. Got cold feet at one point at the cost of the cube and run, but its well worth it. I have chickenitis and Morehens disease, bring it on xx

Your are well out in Morehens spots now What chooks are they? Are they the same as peckingham palace's? The thing about the cost of the Omlet cube, if you look on eBay they seem to really hold their value so can be sold whent the time comes for you to get something even bigger
alexgirl73
Eating out of your hand already? Lucky you My 2 newbies flee up the garden any time they catch sight of me lol.
peckingham palace
I have to hold my hands up and say they are only eating out of my hands because it was raisins. Daisy is a very greedy girl and pecks me if I don't get them thru quick enough. We have 2 gingernut rangers and 2 Miss Pepperpots from Omlet, and whilst I am certainly no authority on chickens as yet, they seem lovely girls, very docile, but very funny. I'm thinking of driving down to Omlet on saturday to get 2 more and then have the 6 and I promise I will leave it at that, for now, until I get a walk in run and another cube and............................... I can see why its so addictive, my stress levels had plumeted today just watching them and enjoying their company. The more I know of humans the more I love my animals!! Chortle Chook
Yes they are the best stress busters in the world. I work from home in a sort of customer advisor job, and if I'm having a nasty phone call , I just look out of the window at my chooks and I can feel the stress falling off of me
