hi, Ive got a WIR that measures 9'x 6' with a concrete base. What would you put on top of it-I am fairly sure I can get hole of Easybed, but would you put something underneath-some sort of chippings maybe? Also, how much would I need to buy? Its just to give me a rough idea of what to buy-we may get to a supplier tonight so I def wnat to get enough Easybed, the chippings I can get from B&Q easily enough at anytime..

I wouldn't bother with chippings,but go for straight Easibed or Aubiose myself. Chippings will just get mixed in & messy - bedding is simple as you can just sweep or dig it out.

Has your pen got a roof?

 

The bales are large - one fills up my small holiday hen pen well....you can see the size of that from the photo in my link.

The big pan will take 3 bales or so,but as our pens are on soil,it depends how far we dig it out.

yes, we have a plastic corrugated roof. I will see what this supplier has when we go...i'd convinced myself you put chippings and then something ontop...must be all the paint/stain fumes..!

I know what you mean re fumes, i have just finished putting 3 coats of varnish on my new 6x9 wir . Just waiting for tarp to come now for sides and my girls can go in
