Is blue star same as bluebell

Recommended Posts

Sorry if i am having a blonde moment. Just found some( Bluebell ? ) Blue star girls locally. I thought i had better check with the experts on here. In the listing it says " Blue Star is derived from a Maran and a Rhode Island Red." Am i right in thinking these are bluebells.

Listing says :-

Blue Star

Number of eggs: 250+ (approx)

Egg colour: light brown, with a plum blush

This is a noticeably chunkier chick! A wonderfully placid nature makes her a great choice. Colour varies from light violet grey, through to a dark steely grey and sometimes a lovely brown feathering joins the mix.

It is derived from a Maran and a Rhode Island Red.

What a fantastic idea keeping the cat basket in the car to save space, I might have to do that

Gongladosh thankyou,

Snoxy she is beautiful,

Well i went to look at the blue stars, they are bluebells so i just had to didn't i, it would have been rude not to :D but i only got one, there was only 3 left. Popped her in the run with a divider at the ready and there were a few standing up to each other and feather ruffling moments mainly from my littlest buff leghorn  then nothing no chasing, no pecking, Bluebell (very original i know, alll my girls are named after flowers so it seemed apt  ) she is fine so far but been kept a very close eye on by me, sat on my decking in the lovely sunshine chicken watching.

I was just about to post what a lovely quiet chicken she is , she is perched on one of the branches in the run half asleep when she saw a C A T oh my goodness she has a very good warning system  did you hear her down south , i don't think she has seen a cat before she nearly fell of the branch stretching her neck to keep the cat in sight, so funny. She is such a cuddly girl. As for my morehens disease ........which colour cube would you recommend

Just noticed mine has a funny beak, don't know if it's been trimmed or is an undershot beak, she is eating and drinking fine though so as long as she is healthy i don't mind. I had to put her to bed though as she didn't know where to sleep and roosted on a high branch in the run. All the other girls have left her alone as if they start getting stroppy with her she just flew upto the high branch and watched all the goings on from above, she was making little gentle noises not squawking though, unless a cat walked past, so i think she was content. Got a lovely cuddle from her before putting her in the eglu, the door is open so she can escape if needed. The other girls didn't bat an eyelid and she just went to sleep. :D
