Thanks abswco....i have been looking at the netting...does the breeze still get through ?

Standing out in my garden with compass hehe...i have sun all day as it travels east....west across my garden.

So realistically i need to cover quite a bit especially the three side exposed to morning then afternoon sun.

I like that it cuts down on the heat too. Can i ask how you fix it ? do you use bungies or tie wraps ?? please.

@ Plum love the patch work...was thinking of an old quilt cover but need to stop some of the heat too.

It was 25 in my run today, there are shady parts inside so i know my girls arent desperate but it isn't summer yet and i want to cool it down if i can .

Debris netting may be cheaper than greenhouse shading and will do the same job, I got mine from ebay

The cheap bamboo blinds from IKEA may do the job, if you took them down over winter they may last a couple of seasons

I like to use Omlet shades within the run, the below pic gives you an idea of what I mean. You dont need to block out all the sun just provide some shady spots, the hens enjoy a sunbathe they just need the option of plenty of shade :D

Thanks Redwing ,

tarpaflex have debris netting on sale atm, it looks okay too. love your run btw.

i think i may be over protective of my chooks .....well banties, but i just want to keep them well and safe. Got to get some garden paint to paint the wir, can't decide on a colour....all i know is it has to be cuprinol.
