Brooding hen has chicks in nesting box

I lock myself in my brick duck house where its pitch black and you can see the chick moving in the egg i have to hold my breath as no matter how much you clean ducks out boy do they stink leanne

Chick, Chick, Chick Just the one, it is one of the Shetland eggs that has hatched so should be a lovely hen. It is hiding under mummy so will get a pic when I can.

Well after a long wait my lovely broody orp has got her reward, a gorgeous little shetland/aracuna chick

It is day 23ish today and was on the verge of giving up, thanks to everyone who posted on my "has something gone wrong" thread, your support has been great. Still 7 eggs remaining.

My clever girl has got another little chick today This one is yellow with black on it, so could be columbia or light sussex. Both chicks are sitting tight under mummy so no pics yet.

It is wonderful, cookie is really protective, I have to lift her up so that I can have a sneaky peep

I also have one of my light sussex sat on 3 eggs, so might get a few more new arrivals.
