Just pre-warning anyone that doesn't want to see them in case it upsets... so the pics are below (just scroll down) My mums hen Fizz caught her 'precious thing' this afternoon. She must've been pretty quick as mice are speedy! There was so much clucking and chasing from the others, even the old girl Poppy the bluebelle interrupted her afternoon nap for a sprint around the run to try to get it. (Jury is out as to whether Fizz is turning into a boy as we noticed spurs forming today. She's been laying for 18months but hasn't for the past week or so, and her head gear it getting pretty big! The spurs are just about noticeable in two of the pics) It's a little bit shocking to imagine our feathered friends could do this though, isn't it? All that extra protein didn't make her lay any eggs at that stage though. Over 6 months later she still goes and checks behind the drainpipe in case there's another one lurking There was an hilarious Benny Hill style chase around the garden with a load of excited squarking from them all when it was found.
