CatsCube
Well of course I just got my incubator and switched it on today ready for setting eggs tomorrow, and one of our pekins has also chosen today to stay firmly planted in the nest box! How long do you wait to see if a hen is definatly broody and not just being lazy lol! Im thinking I may as well also have a go at popping some of the eggs under her. should I evict her housemate straight away into the run with the other girls. Also should I get non slip stuff and chick proof the coop for her now? And as I was going to put all the chicks in that house after a couple of weeks anyway, will I have to wait till the mum loses interest in her chicks before putting the other ones in? or can I take her out when the chicks are a couple of weeks old and put all the chicks in together then?
