snowberry
My 15 year old cat has walked in. If you can imagine walking on your ankle rather than your foot, then this describes it; she is not in pain & not limping. She has had a bit of arthritis for the last few years; I'll be taking her to the vets tomorrow, but thanks if any of you have an idea of what this could be. There is no sign of swelling or dislocation...& she is drinking fine. x
Old Speckled Hen
It's good that you're taking her to your vet. Is she drinking/eating to excess? A dropped gait like you describe is very common in old cats with diabetes as their muscle tone weakens. She could have slipped and fallen and still be in little obvious pain, are there any signs of fighting with another cat? Let us know how you get on
snowberry
I explained to the nurse this morning about Saria; when I arrived at the vets, there were 2 of them because they said 'they'd only seen a case like this in a textbook before'; they thought it was neurological at first but were a little dissappointed to find the problem in her front, not hind legs. The don't know what it is & said to go back if it gets worse; but as she's not in pain they will hold off on the x-rays!They waggled her leg every which way! She was only tested for diabetes a couple of weeks ago so it isn't that...
