Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Well I made a start on the walk in run frame today do some more tomorrow still waiting for wire to arrive hopefully the chucks will be happy as I'm having to build round them at the moment.

Ta I am actually using your run to give me ideas. but will probably use some ply board on the bottom to keep the wind to a minimal but not fully decided yet.

Ok sides done waiting for weld mesh

Grrrrrrr I am totally cheesed off I ordered and paid for my weld mesh on the 24th May from ebay which stated 48 hour delivery but as it is the 6th June today and still no wire I checked where my order was. My order states 48 hour delivery but underneath it states " estimated delivery date 7th - 8th July???????????????????????

 

I am not happy I have emailed them and told them I want it by this Friday or I want my money back and I'll go elsewhere.

Well after a month of waiting the wire eventually arrived today so if the weathers good on Wednesday ill be getting the mesh on.

Just a quick update The new run is almost complete just needs the roof on now which I will be buying on Monday. I have moved the Chicken house outside the run area so giving more space for the girls and am in fact looking to add a new chuck to the clan. The girls have been very good after spending the past 3 days in very cramped quarters they are finally getting the space they deserve. Will post up pics when I have the roof on.

Hope it stays dry then for the roofing, are you going to use the pvc sheets?

 

I put my house outside it makes it easier to manage. Don't forget some more pics

Yes Pvc roof sheets as it is outside the kitchen so need to keep the light coming in the run will have shaded areas for the chucks. Granddaughters Christening today so can't do it today.

 

Will get the pics when its done.

By the way, it's not always a good idea to introduce a lone hen. Some places won't even sell you a single one.

Get bantams 2 = 1 big one.

Just tell your wife you are going to get a hen then call one 'a' and the other 'hen'

no its not it is a canister my daughter wants me to take to the tip I put it there out the way.

get 2 new girls; when your wife says "what's that one?" just say "this old thing? I've had it for ages" works a treat for us girlies!!
