Raina
Hi all, Orakiah has a pretty big spur on one of her legs, is this normal?
Egluntyne
Not unusual. Several of my hens have them.

chickenopolis
My new chook Margo has a small pair of spurs on her. She was bought last week and I am still going through the introduction process but I noticed this morning that she does have the start of a pair of spurs. She is a Light Sussex hybrid - is this usual for this type of breed? She doesn't have big tail feathers and is not make any more noise than my other new hen, but am a bit worried. She doesn't seem to be crouching either....ooh I hope Margo isn't turning into a Malcolm!!!! Sorry for hijacking this post..

chickenopolis
Have just had an chook expert and guru look at photos of Margo - and it turns out that SHE IS A MARGO.... Extra grapes tonight I think for some cheeky ladies!!! She said that spurs on a hen is normal, but as my others don't have any I was worried..... Thanks Jude x
