Hi all,

 

Before Astrid came to us she used to be with cockerels.

 

So what I'm asking is, if she had been mounted how long will she be laying fertile eggs for?

about 12 days I believe.

 

Our girls had been with a cock when we got them, so I saved all four eggs that she laid the following week and all four hatched!

Im very lucky and my mum said I could have ago at hatching a couple. Just need to find all my incubation stuffs lol

They can lay fertile eggs for some time, I've set eggs 3 weeks after the cockerel was removed from the pen

 

bear in mind though that you really want to set eggs no older than about a week so if the hen is laying daily collect them for 6 or 7 days maybe?
