Garvo - so hard to find a stockist

Recommended Posts

I think I will be giving up feeding Garvo :( The importer for the UK in Essex never has any so none of my localish stockists are able to get any. I have just spoken to Feeds and Treats near Colchester who told me he would willingly be the importer but Garvo cannot change from the original (J Sage?) :( It costs as much to have it delivered from Jim Vyse as to buy a bag . Think I will be changing to Marriages :(

Oh I am just contemplating the same thing, mine love Garvo, So do I but at £16 + a bag :(:(

Dont really know what to do, have ordered some from Wiggly Wigglers which on Amazon is free delivery, and the girls had this to start with, but when you compare the two, there is a hugh difference.

Also the poo is so much better.

Descision descisions.

I am going to be so rich :lol:

Not sure how girlies will manage, but will stand my ground.. wouldnt have done that a few years ago but am braver now and can cope with their sulks :lol:

Is is £16 for 20KG? My normal food is about £10 for 20KG. Is it that much better? If so, why? Is there less poo? I would pay the extra for less poo!

The problem is that it is about £9.50 a bag normally but when you add on the delivery it jumps to £16 per bag

probably a stupid question - have you put your post code into their website? Most Dobbies Garden Centres stock Garvo and there's a main importer who you could contact.

I've found someone to gets the pigeon feed and takes orders every couple of months for chicken feed..........£9.50 - I'd have to collect but it's only about 15mins away and far cheaper than postage!

I now know how much they make on a bag of Garvo  and am not surprised that there are not many stockists. It is really not worth their while given the quantities that they have to buy it in. I think any stockist deserves a medal. To be fair, the same is true of a lot poultry feed.

My nearest Dobbies is Milton Keynes and as of last week they have not been able to 'get it for ages' .

The main problem is that Garvo HQ won't allow stockists to buy small amounts, they have to buy it by the pallet-load. A massive outlay, with no guarantees of selling it all, so many feed merchants won't touch it. Mine being one of them, for this reason alone.

Garvo are missing umpteen opportunities here.

 This is the guy causing all the problems, not fulfilling orders and not answering the phone/email etc. With all due respect I wouldn't have posted on here if I hadn't tried all avenues

LOL - thought so, but the links might be useful for others :)

Does anyone living close-ish to Preston, Lancs want Garvo? I could order some in when I'm next ordering (£9.50) and pick up - they'd have to collect from me though x

they seem to but I'm not sure if they are eating more or it's down to the 4 extra girls now off growers and on to layers ( they started laying at 18 weeks not the 24-26 I was expecting) but the first bag has been eaten quicker than the garvo
