Hello after reading about spider mites this morning on the forum, it was decided that I should do an inspection of the shed and surprise surprise I have them too, I am a novice when it comes to be a chicken mummy, so off I went to my local horse shop and bought some Poultry shield. I have mixed some up in a spray bottle and give everything a liberal coating. my question is: How long does it take to kill the spider mite? And how often do I need to use it? Any advice appreciated.

Hi, i use mine once a week. I spray the housing and leave it for 15 mins or so(longer if i have time) then rinse it off.

Spider mite and red mite are not the same thing. If it is spider mite that you have, there is nothing to worry about.

I think it is Red mite, they are quite brown in colour, very tiny but hundreds of them.

I'd do it every couple of days until you think you are clear. There's a sticky about them.

Ok another stupid question: Due to lack of instructions on the poultry shield bottle: Do I spray and rinse off, or leave to soak into the wood?
