We are getting a WIR next weekend from avaries4u and I hope to get some more girlies in late summer when we get back from our hols. Is 2 or 3 chickens best to introduce to my present 4 omlet girlies? I would like to get a Bluebelle girl and the other one/s my children will choose. I plan to do the intro very slowly (2 weeks depending on how it goes) using our new wir for both lots with one part sectioned off and use our old rabbit hutch.

How exciting Up to you whether 2 or 3 I don't think it makes any difference but good idea to do the slow introductions, you can always speed it up if all goes well.

I have my 10 week old pekins in the WIR & plan to put the 7 week olders in there in a couple of weeks when they're roughly the same size. I'll move the large dog crate into the run & they can get to know each other from either sides of the bars for a bit.

Thank you for your advice, yes I am very excited. Looking forward to my delivery next Saturday. I am going to paint the woodwork green like another Omletter had I think it is from the cuprinol range of paints. Will go nicely with the purple eglu and tie in with the girlies green conifer trees behind them which they play in when it is wet.
