Angie
My yr old orp banty is not herself. Started the routine worming 5 days ago , all the girls were fine, as fraz is an orp she is broody frequently so i have not been worried that she hasn't laid for 2 wks. today i noticed her comb is not as red as normal, i have checked her over with a fine tooth comb, abdomen is soft, poo normal , no wheeze,no discharge anywhere, no mites , crop ok but not a lot in it ( thought she was missing her treats whilst worming ) i have watched her on and off and she has been active and doing chickie things......but tonight she couldn't hop up into the cube......i have put her to bed but i am very worried. What am i missing ? any ideas ? I don't have any chickie vets in the area.
Chucky Mama
It is possible that is coming back into lay and that she has a soft shelled egg on the way If so it should pass in the next 24 hours. Make sure that she is eating and drinking and if she hasn't perked up in 24 hours I would have a rethink and maybe get her to a vet.

Angie
My vet gave her a look over as she was down , not a mark on her food in crop she wasn't bullied, nor any evidence of a softy, sadly she died the vet thinks it was a virus, i didn't want a pm, i buried her. The other two are very well, cleaned out all the bedding and scrubbed the coop, lots of stalosan etc just incase .........i know if it was a virus it won't help but at least i know everything is extra clean.
