OMG the one thing I thought was never going to happen, I have just openend cube door to remove a broody girl and these tiny little critters were on my hand YUK!!.

Has anyone else had redmite take up residence in a cube?. I have cleaned it all out all put the special powder to kill them everywhere. So, I can say with first hand experience that the eglu's are not foxproof, nor the cube redmite proof!.

Off to have a shower as I am feeling really itchy.

Good luck, and maybe prevention is better than cure.

Plastic houses don't claim to be red mite proof, just easier to get rid of the red mite. Don't have experience with it myself, but good luck with getting rid of :D

I think jet washing helps getting rid.

Oh, and how did a fox get into your cube?

I've had them in the cube and found them easier to get rid of then did my friend with her wooden house. I took it all apart, washed thoroughly, then squirted flea spray in the gaps etc before putting together again. One application was enough, but I cleaned them out very thoroughly each week for a month.

My vet gave me the flea spray- but I found that Raid ant powder has the same ingredients.

oh - mine was HEAVING week before last. Bluergh. Blooming things were crawling ALL over me. I've never felt so gross...

Clothes were covered too from contact with the cube before realising. I binned everything I was wearing. Thankfully just old clothes !

I treated with a red mite aerosol spray from the pet store which did the job nicely.... as mite powder hadn't touched it after 3 days.

Chooks have all been treated with eprinex from the vets. Mites seem to be gone now thankfully
