More than expected

Recommended Posts

Ok, we have 3 chickens 1 amber star and 2 black stars. This morning I took out 4 eggs!!! Just now we have got back from being out and there is an other egg!!! 5 eggs !eggwhite!!eggwhite!!eggwhite!!eggwhite!!eggwhite! from 3 chickens (Bluebelle)PPPP !!!

Is this common?

I thought they only laid 1 per 24 hours?

Not that I am complaining more is better, but unusual I think.

Had just logged on to ask the same question! Collected 2 eggs at 9.00am this morning from T&L. Since I got them last year Thelma has a been a very regular 1 a day layer delivering first thing in the morning. Louise had been, at best, three days on, one day of until very recently. She also lays late morning. She has just had her first spate of 10 days on the trot.

i let them out onto grass where they cannot return to the Eglu thinking all the action was over for the day and forgot about them. Imagine my suprise whe I went out at 1.00 and Louise is doing her pathetic "I want to lay an egg and you won't let me!" routine. When I lifted the fence she shot into the Eglu at high speed making her egg-chuntering noises. A third egg arrived in very short time.

So,how do I tell who has done double duty today? I can usually tell the eggs apart, but today they have chosen to make it difficult!
