mollyripkim Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Had a call from Racheal at Hamble Valley on Sunday to ask if I would be interested in rehoming a year old black silkie girl, at first I said no as it wouldn't be fair as we have dogs but apparently she was used to dogs so I went for a look and here she is. Cilla (as in Cilla Black) Then as we were chatting she said she had a Bantam Orpington from the same home soooooo here she is as well, really chuffed as Orpingtons were my second choice, not sure if she has got something else in her as hadn't seen one with the cream round her neck? Any ideas? She is the same size as the Silkies. She is called Polly. I am really pleased with them, they are both very tame and eating out of my hand and don't mind the dogs. Daphne Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 Assuming she has a normal single comb (I think its just the photo making it look a bit odd), she looks like a silver birchen orp to me. Bantam orps can tend towards the pekin in the face department just like this girl, which is quite normal, but very different to the LF orps. Yes her comb is single and very red!, seems a bit alien to me at the moment as having just had silkies never had with a comb. But I think she is beautiful whatever she is!
