jddm
Hi There I have 4 ex batts happily free ranging in my garden, secure away from veggies nice plants etc. I have had a lionhead rabbit for a few months and free ranges with them during the day, he gets on with them and sunbathes with them etc. I thought he would prefer a bunny friend rather than a feathery friend, so i took a female lionhead off someone who couldn't keep her as she was being bullied by her other rabbits. After careful introductions I let her out yesterday and everything went well. Now my husband just called and said shes attacking the girls pulling their feathers out and he cant catch her. Hubby has put girls in for protection - HELP - mad bunny - any advice ??

jddm
got home last night to check on the girls and one of them had a big gash on her side, courtesy of ''the rabbit from hell''...!!!!
lillybettybabs
You really should have separated you hens and rabbit after the first attack. Bonding animals should been taken at a very steady pace, you need to keep them separate for a few weeks before attempting to introduce again and consider having the doe spayed as this will calm her temperament. jddm
that WAS after the first attack - the girls were put in after that, as hubby couldn't catch rabbit. I've placed her in small separate run now but that can't be permanent.
lillybettybabs
If you can keep her in a run and let the chickens FR around her for a few weeks then try again. Whilst you are in the garden armed with a water pistol if she does attack (this is to defend the chickens). If this doesn't work i can only suggest spaying to even out the hormones.
