westie mum
The neighbour from hell has decided to screw fence panels onto our concrete fence. Not a problem with us. Went out of the back gate yesterday and noticed he had been spraying his garden furniture on the fields. Sitting in my garden today watching the chooks and I noticed that there was fence paint on the frame of our garden seat and that the chippings were covered with it. Checked around the back of the WIR and the tarpaulin, Omlet shades, all my trees, WIR roof and my fence are covered in it. Thankfully most of that side of my run is covered but there are places where the spray paint has come into the WIR and I'm just a bit worried about the chooks. He did this yesterday (we weren't around much yesterday) so just wondered if it would affect the chooks in anyway as it has got into the run. One of their feeders is by the gap where it has been sprayed so am just a bit concerned that they may of eaten food that had fence spray on it. To say I am absolutely fuming is an understatement
Olly
If it's ordinary fence preserver, it's usually safe for animals so I doubt if the chooks will come to any harm. However, it might be an opportunity to ask him 'can you tell me what you used, as I'm very worried that the chickens may have been poisoned' and thereby let him know that his spraying has gone too far. Those sprayers are a curse in my view - my next-door-neighbour sprayed his fence and blithely coated my bay window in tiny specks which all had to be s"Ooops, word censored!"ed off. The finish isn't as good as you get with a brush anyway, I am getting some satisfaction from seeing that his other fence is fading fast! Sam
I think it should be fine, my black chicken has a big splodge of red paint on her back, she escaped her netting while I was painting the WIR! That would annoy me though

surfer_chicken
I agree with Olly- asking them what they used for the chickens sake is a good reason to go around there and tell them to be a little tidier next time I hope your chooks are fine and it doesn't take too long to clear up the mess.
