squiffs
When we first got our chickens Babs laid an egg a day in a 5 days on 1 day off pattern, but once Margot started laying, she's sort of stopped - occasionally (maybe twice a week) we'll get 2 eggs. Margot laid her first egg a couple of weeks ago and has been regular as clockwork since! Margot does occupy the nestbox for a far longer time than is necessary (if Babs' spells on it are anything to go by) - sometimes an hour or 2. Might this be stopping Babs from laying or has she just got lazy? Or should I be worried that she's not doing too well? Her wattle and comb haven't gone red since we got her, so she doesn't even look like she's in lay, her face has gone red in the last few days (like she's sunburnt, can chickens get sunburnt?? ). Anyone else with lazy chickens, please allay my concerns
squiffs
Wow - so I guess I may need to worm them - although I'd have thought Omlet would have done that.

johnandkymberley
I know, i would think thats a bit unusual but it wont harm them, hens can pick up worms so easy though! mine were wormed and i found a few white strings but nothing major, i didnt realise they could still have them but show no signs of having them! Only thing is, they're not on grass or soil so I'm not sure how they'd pick them up
