I have sports bars aplenty as you'd imagine, but I need a new 'ordinary' bra with a racer back to wear under vest tops. Nude in colour and size 34A

 

Can anyone make any recommendations? All the ones I have found so far have crossover straps which I find very uncomfortable.

How about see-through silicone straps - M&S do these - I bought some but haven't tried them yet. Also, stock some with some very nice straps that look OK if you can see them. (I recently updated my collection of old rather grey bras with thick straps for this very reason)

Thanks Yvonne, I have tried the silicone straps but they still show and end up sticking to my skin which is uncomfortable.

I saw some clips on t'internet K, but they look to have the same effect as the crossover straps which I find uncomfortable.

 

A friend has just suggested this they stock them in Debenhams so I'm off to look at them this weekend

Since joing the gym i have had similar problems but my issue was the 34GG i have bought 2 very different ones so will have to see how they go! Good luck in your hunt

Can you recommend a good cheap sports bra Clare? I want to do some jogging, just locally, nothing taxing, but need to eliminate 'bounce' and I'm only a 34B Do sports bras come with a choice of back styles, as I'm guessing racer back would be better.

They do come with a choice of back styles, although most are racer back to eliminate that annoying 'slipping bra strap'.

 

There are 3 basic styles...

 

• Those which look like a bra but have firmer support and usually a racer back
   
  Crop top style sports bras such as the Minimal Bounce Bra - I find that these feel a bit restrictive and are hard to put on
   
  A cross between the two, which is what I have.

 

I wear this style and find it to be very comfortable and supportive. A recent report recommended that all women, no matter of the size (or lack of) of their breasts should wear a sports bar when doing any sort of exercise; the breasts have no muscle support of their own and once they have sagged, that's it!

Sports Direct if you have one near you, or you can shop online, are rather cheap. they have a good range of stuff too

Yes, the prices vary wildly - usually from about £20 to £50 (!)
