Bramble
'Phoned up BHWT to confirm my "booking" yesterday. I can collect three new little girls on 3 September. Hopefully, introductions to my two remaining ex-batts won't be too traumatic, but I will have a separate eglu for the new girls to live in until they are feeling a bit stronger. Finished putting the Cube together yesterday (still a bit to do on the run, but rain stopped play last night ) so hopefully we will be ready for their arrival. (Just got to teach the existing girls to use the Cube ladder now )

Purplemaniacs
How exciting My hybrids got the hang of the with no problems, I put a large up turned flower pot at the base to help them. It is a mixture of flap, leap and fall but they get in and out When we moved them into the cube and WIR I posted the friendliest and most confident in via the cube so they had an idea, that that was where they had to go for bedtime Chrissie

Bramble
well done for rescuing some more girlies! dare I ask about the running? Hello cathy bc! Probably best not to ask about the running - I still have a half egg sized lump on my leg, no idea why, but have decided to give couch to 5k another go ... think I'm going to go back to the early weeks and see how it goes, if you know what I mean After losing my last ex batt last weekend, I am collecting more this weekend I feel it is my duty to always have ex batts in my flock Hooray!! I only have one non-ex-batt and she is more trouble than the rest put together - hooray for ex-batts is all I can say!!!!!
Space Chick
You are right about ex batts being no trouble, the ones I have had have been absolute joys.... some of my diva pure breeds could take a leaf out of their books. I honestly believe that ex batts enjoy life more than any other chicken... I don't know whether they remember and can appreciate how much better life is cage free My Babs was feisty and full of life until the end, only the day before she died she was free ranging in the garden, and chasing a cheeky youngster away from her lettuce
