Ecovision - solar panels

Recommended Posts

The thing about these companies is they make ALL the profit from the governments feed in tarifs.

You will only benefit from electricity during the hours of daylight, you will still have an electricity bill for when you exceed what is being generated and for non productive hours.

As I type, my solar panels are being fitted... we have paid for ours ourselves... its quite a big outlay (we had a policy mature that paid the bulk of ours) but it should pay for itself in 7 years, the next 18 years is pure profit for us (Government feed in tarif is guaranteed for 25 years)

I work in the energy industry and during the next 12 months there are supposed to be some new methods of funding coming in that will enable you to purchase some of the eco-friendly stuff and pay it back via what you generate (i think -its not my field - i'm just a clerical pleb  ).

As it goes more mainstream its hoped the capital cost will go down. Sorry to be vague - its lack of knowledge on my part not evasiveness

Good luck - I want a ground source heat pump!

Armature Company!!

During December I applied, had a survey carried out by them, ticked all the boxes.

I was then told all’s ok and documents would be in the post. I received their solicitor’s letter requesting a certified copy of my deeds to be sent to them, which I paid a solicitor to do.

I then received a very wordy lease agreement, which was signed etc. and sent back mid Jan. I received emails reminding me the contract needs returning back ASAP as there’s a rush to get installed before the March cut-off date for change of tariff.

I’ve phoned them today for an update, only to be told they are sorry but the criteria for acceptance has changed and the survey has now been rejected! My lease has been cancelled !

Seems to me they are in a complete state of dis-array with departments not talking to each other!

They are full of apologies for wasting my time but would not agree to cover my solicitor’s costs, and yet they were the ones pushing me to complete!

If anyone is looking for panel installation then they would be better looking elsewhere at a more professional company!

Not quite sure what the company was but our neighbours signed up for panels they didn't pay for but received the free electric generated. Panels arrived, electrics all fitted, scaffolding a month late then fitters arrived and found roof was too small!!!!! They live in a semi and survey was done by google earth!!!!!!!!on whole roof. Ended up no panels.

We funded our own and are ver happy except today when some one forgot to turn the light on.
