nelliemif
Well my 4 gorgeous girlies and purple cube arrived on Tuesday - yeah! Pecking order is being established - ouch! But I'm a bit worried about one of them... One of them has diar, dhia, diah... poorly poo! Not sure if it's the same one, but I presume so, that seems to be getting picked on a bit and just comes out for a quick scratch about but spends most of the time sitting on her own inside What might be the problem/how can I make her happy? daxigirl
Some of it may be stress if they're still settling in and there's squabbling going on, as long as she's being allowed to eat and drink.
Mum
Could be from the stress of the move as daxigirl said; could also be the change in food (unless the breeder gave you some of her food stock to start you off?)
Embilly
Hello, We had a similar thing when we got our 3 (about a month ago now) - all seemingly happy, laying etc, but lots of almmost fluid or definitely not right poo coming out of them! We put it down to change of diet (2 were battery rescues), stress of move and pecking order establishment. Digging through this forum we have tried a few things - and seem to have sorted them out now (fingers crossed). Firstly, we cut out all treats for a few days, and then reintroduced in much smaller amounts (we were so pleased they were eating out of our hands so soon possibly over did it a bit!), tried some apple cider vinegar in the water (which didn't help a whole lot), fed them a live yogurt and oat mix (which they love, and seemed to help a bit, but not completely), but the thing that seems to have made the real difference is giving them a handful of bokashi (omlet sell it, we got some from ebay as it was a bit cheaper if not ordering anything else from omlet) each day. For the last week we seem to have much firmer droppings!
Embilly
PS - if you are new to chicken keeping (as we were) you might not know about caceal (sp?) droppings - yellowy, foamy, smelly, normal! If you don't, it could be that?!
