Chicken boarders

i have ordered 2 miss pepperpots and 4 gingernut rangers, on friday night. there is no date for delivery yet, and i was wondering, how long does the delivery for chickens take? this is the first time i have had chickens (well, when they arrive!) Thankyou!

How exciting ..You won't regret it I have 2 and 1 from them and I waited 4 weeks , but it was well worth it as they are gorgious girls and they get on really well together (No fighting)

I think that they make sure they get on before they deliver.

I bet you are nervous , I was but there is no need as there is always someone on here willing to help out.

I took the plunge last weekend and ordered our hens and eglu from omlet. They called me on the Monday to give me the date when they were next in my area and had a space which was in 3 weeks time. I had been told originally they were really booked up so was expecting a 4 week wait til my hennies arrive!

 

One week down, two to go! Hope they are able to squeeze you in sooner rather than later!

Welcome to the forum.It all depends on what stock they have got and when they are in your area.I ordered and they delivered exactly a week later.

I seem to remember it was a two or three week wait when we ordered our eglu and chooks.

 

Our Gingernut was our friendliest chook ever, if you were digging she was in the hole We lost count the number of times she nearly got buried alive

That's not too long to wait then, but you are already set up? Are you also getting an eglu or just the chickens to fill your existing coop? I did consider getting mine from Omlet as they seem like nice hybrids but decided to go to a local supplier in the end as wanted the chickens to have as short a journey as possible. As it turns out we are only 15 mins from the farm and my two go back there for their holidays!!! Anyway, I expect you will feel nervous and excited. I did when I got mine in July and used to keep going out to check on them, now I can't believe how tame they have become and how relaxed I feel being around them. Already want some more!!!

i did look at getting an eglu cube , but they are just too much money! so, i got a wooden coop, and getting chickens from omlet!

hello! i have had my hens for 3 months in 2 days! they are great hens , and really friendly and love to follow me around! they lay amazing eggs too! so glad i chose to keep hens! especially from omlet!
