Chickendoodle
I have just read a really good thriller (Fallen Idol) and as it is the start of a series using the same lead characters I have bought the other 4 books in the series. Is there any way of marking on the kindle which order to read them in? I have my books in categories but it is not obvious from the titles which is the correct order and I don't really want to keep a post it note inside my cover ! Jennifer Jane
I would like to know if there's a solution to this too - when I was reading Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole series, I managed to read them completely out of order. Only way I can suggest is very long-winded. Add each book to a separate collection, named something sensible like (Series name/author name) No. 1, No.2, etc. I'm sure there must be a better way though... Will have a go when I get home and see if it works
Cinnamon
Not sure, but I think they would self sort to alphabetical. Unless there is a sneaky way to be able to sort the books yourself. This would help me a lot too - I have a lot of series,& they are all over the place!
Chickendoodle
Just been looking at this http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200375850 If you look about halfway down it shows you how to change the way the books are sorted It should work if I change my setting to sort by author as the books are all by the same author so they should (hopefully) stay in the order I add them to the collection. Here's hoping anyway
Chickendoodle
OK well that didn't work BUT I think I have found a solution I created a collection for the series of books, opened the first page of each book and added a note against the start of the page saying Book 1, Book 2 etc (go into menu - add notes) All you do then is to right click on the title of the book and view notes and you will see which one it is. No need really for a separate collection but it works for me
quickcluck
Does anyone know if you can mark the books as 'read' once you read them? Thanks
Christian
I started a new collection called 'Books read' and put each book in there when I have finished it.
Cinnamon
I on the other hand have a collection called Books to Read. When I get a new book it goes in there, plus into its genre collection (chick lit,Fiction,Travel etc) When I have read it I just remove it from the Books to read collection ....works a treat

Cinnamon
I have: To Read Fiction Fantasy Travel Historical Bio Chick Lit Vampire Lit Classics Reference I wish there was a way you could sub category as well, then I would also have a series section, subcatagoried for each series (Harry Potter,True Blood etc) I am sure this will be one of the features on the next Kindle,as well as the ability to sort in the order you prefer,& *fingers crossed* lovely colour covers too
