Purplemaniacs
Hi, I just wondered if anyone had made their own slate cheese board. Don't normally do cheese at the end of a meal but DS and his girlfriend came for dinner and we had cheese, to my surprise everyone enjoyed it so I thought for that event in December it would be nice to have a posh board for the cheese. Does anyone know what you have to do to a piece of slate to make it suitable or would I be better to just buy one ready made? Thanks Chrissie
Christian
I don't see a problem with buying a slate tile, popping it in the dishwasher and using that?
bigmommasally
I've seen it on this blog before. She just added felt pads for feet. Nice idea to write the name of the cheese in chalk on the board too. http://partiesforpennies.blogspot.com/

Lavenders_Blue
Well I don't usually venture onto Crafty Fingers, but so pleased that I have today. This slate cheese board idea is a great one. I have found these slate tiles at Wickes and they look like they should be just the job. Presented with a couple of nice cheeses and a cheese knife they will make super Christmas presents. That's several more presents sorted now
