I love my MIL dearly as if she were my own mother and see her regularly (about once a month) and talk perhaps every 3rd day or more. I however would not want to see her and take her shopping every week I would definitely knock that one on the head if I was in that position.

I always got on well with my in laws however following a fall out with his eldest sister and her family it escalated into his other two sisters jumping on the bandwagon. After my Fil passed away they upped the anti and have done some really spiteful things to hurt my OH and as they do a lot for Mil they use this to manipulate her into siding with them she lives 10 mins away OH visits her every Sunday taking our two gransons With him I put my foot down and refuse to visit her after the last nasty stunt they pulled as far as I am concerned she Is just as bad as them as she could refuse to be party to there childish behaviour. I could never imagine my three daughters behaving that way to there brother and nothing would every make me go along with bullies

i havent spoken to my mil for 18 years as she is a spiteful hag she does not approve of me as i'm not welsh speaking and my children dont have welsh names. she even told me on my wedding day try and make it work as english girls like to wonder off with other men yet her other son is on his 2nd marriage 1st wife welsh went off with brother in laws best friend enough said i think

Hi-been off through lack of internet so havent been able to reply!!

 

I think that looking at what other people say its probably unusual to see them/her each week..but as it has pretty m,uch always been so I dont necessarily see it will change that much

 

And yes it probably is me having a problem with how I feel 'we' are not prioritised, but hopefully we are working on changing this.

We had spoken about this a couple of weeks ago prior to his job changing as we knew it would mean lots mroe hours for him both at home and at work. Hopefully the changes we are aiming for will make a difference-He's a night owl and I'm not so he's going to spend the early evening with me before starting his work-on at least a couple of the evenings, we are also trying to make sure that one night a week we go out for a meal, and another we pop out for a couple of drinks, as he has said its about being smart with the time we have

my OH is welsh, My OH did have welsh girlfriends and i wont tell you what i think about the last one as there would be lots of *********** lol but I could happily punch her lights out .... in short she dumped my OH for another man, didnt work out then has been on the scene trying her luck for the last 6 years....

 

ahem... anyway

 

I get on really well with the inlaws, we see them quite often, not as often as we used to, but we have been busy with the bathroom last few months, so we havent really seen anyone. We usually go away with the inlaws for a week on a narrowboat holiday and never have any spats or anything. They live about 30 miles away and my parents live about 100 miles away. We have seen my parents quite a bit as my dad is very handy and he has been helping in the bathroom and we have looked after their parrots when they went on holiday and they looked after mine when we went on holiday. We havent been to their house since xmas last year though, so it has been mostly people coming to us this year.
